In the past if someone was doing an article on Jeff and I, we would ask to review the article before publishing. When your art is being published it is so hard for layman to understand.

Hello all, Well, I've got to say, the writer of the story in the Source really did a doozy. To put it bluntly, he fabricated a "story" about bellydance, complete with an "interview" w/2 members of Gypsy Fire.....The reason I say "interviews", is that I'm not sure that he was present at the same one that Julia and I gave.....we were misquoted, and the man *obviously* had some typical, IGNORANT pre-conceived notions about bellydance, that he simply used us to create "facts" about the dance that would support the simple conclusion that: "....the purpose of bellydancing- to entice arousal" Basically, the usual: bellydancing=stripping... AAAAAARGH!!!!!! I am so frustrated that we personally, and that bellydancers in general have been portrayed like this again, and in a local, widely read, publication! I wanted to put the word out there, that this article does NOT represent what we talked about in the interview, and does NOT represent my views about dance, and to let you all know that I am embarrassed to have my name and picture attached to this in any way, shape or form..... Please write to the Source, if you feel the need to rebut the "story"....I know I plan to.... Thanks! Quinn
